PVJOBS is most grateful to the generous support of foundations that recognize the vision and potential of our programs. We consider them our closest partners and cannot thank them enough.

The Weingart Foundation
The Weingart Foundation focuses its grant making on programs that address the needs of the under-served and the general community. During the past thirty-six years, the Foundation authorized grants of more than $856 million to support a variety of Southern California social services, educational, and community programs and continues to be a major philanthropic institution serving the needs of Southern California.
The Weingart Foundation has been most gracious in their support of the PVJOBS Capital Plan. It is with their support that we were able to renovate our new building and create a permanent home for PVJOBS. We are proud to have them as a partner.
The California Wellness Foundation
Rather than focusing on medical treatment, The California Wellness Foundation works to prevent health problems resulting from violence, teen pregnancy, poverty and other social issues. The California Wellness Foundation defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Wellness is the ability of people and communities to reach their fullest potential in the broadest sense.
To that end, the California Wellness Foundation has funded the PVJOBS DRC Work Experience Program. Under that program, young probationers obtain the necessary work experience to move into sustainable careers, thereby putting themselves in the position to obtain healthcare for them and their families. We thank them for their particularly important investment in our youth.
The United Way
United Way is a worldwide network in 45 countries and territories, including nearly 1,300 local organizations in the U.S. It advances the common good, creating opportunities for a better life for all, by focusing on the three key building blocks of education, income and health. The United Way movement creates long lasting community change by addressing the underlying causes of problems that prevent progress in these areas. LIVE UNITED is a call to action for everyone to become a part of the change.
The United Way of Los Angeles has been a PVJOBS supporter for many years. Their ongoing core program support has enabled PVJOBS to serve more individuals annually, assisting them in developing career paths.
LAWFC
Eight different organizations make up the Los Angeles Workforce Funder Collaborative (LAWFC), with one common vision - to create a thriving workforce system which meets the needs of all in Greater Los Angeles. The LAWFC was launched in 2007 to address critical challenges facing our workforce development system by leveraging funding to invest in workforce development and work together to affect policy and systems change. The LAWFC has chosen a sector approach to ensure its investments prepare people for employment in industries where jobs exist, are not likely to be outsourced, and provide good incomes and opportunities for career advancement. These sectors are: Healthcare and Allied Health; Logistics/Goods Movement; and Construction and Building Trades.
By investing in these three sectors, LAWFC aims to create a regional environment in which job security and career advancement opportunities are readily available to low-wage workers while also meeting the workforce needs of those key industry sectors. For more information, go to http://www.laworkforcefunders.org.
In this endeavor, the LAWFC has funded the PVJOBS core program for the past couple of years. We are humbled by their confidence in PVJOBS and excited to play a part in this ground breaking initiative.
